The mission of Saint Columbkille School is to grow in spirit, mind, and body as disciples of Christ.
Welcome to the 2019-20 school year! I hope this year will be a year of great growth and blessings for all of us. I am beginning my 27th year at St. Columbkille this year. I love being part of this school community. I feel blessed to work with such wonderful families and fellow teachers and staff. I have six children and fourteen grandchildren, ten of whom currently attend or have attended St. Columbkille School. I graduated from Creighton University with a B.A. in English and did some graduate level work at UNO. I also have been trained in the Six Traits of Effective Writing, Lessons That Change Writers (Nancie Atwell),and The Institute for Excellence in Writing Structure and Style. In addition, I am a Certified Barton Reading and Spelling Tutor. For 25 years, I taught junior high literature and language arts. This year I begin my second year as a part-time resource teacher working with students who struggle in reading, writing, and/or math. I have always enjoyed working with students who struggle. It is especially satisfying to accompany them on their journey from thinking they can't to discovering they can. If you think I can be of assistance to your child, please contact me.
